Local moving charges are based upon hourly rates. The rate begins when the crew arrives at your first location and covers the total time of the move: the loading, driving to new location, and the unloading. In addition to the hourly rate, there is a one-time fee called a travel charge. This charge covers the mover’s costs for traveling from their facilities to your location, and back to their office once the move is complete. This charge is at the same rate as the hourly fee, and totals a half hour to an hours charge.
Local move is a move that is within a 100-mile radius and state of origin. Many factors can affect the cost of a local move. Such as:
- How ready are you when the movers arrive?
- Are all your belongings packed?
- How close can the truck park to your home?
- Any hard-to-move items?
- How much packing, unpacking and furniture placement would you like the movers to do for you?
The more information you provide your mover prior to your move date, the better your chances are of having a smooth move within your budget.
Moving Charges Price is determined based on five elements:
1. Labor - You pay an hourly rate for each member of your moving crew. The clock starts when the movers arrive at your front door and it stops when they complete their work at your new home
2. Trucks - You pay an hourly rate for each truck used for your move. Keep in mind that you will need a truck that has been specifically designed to move household goods
3. Materials - You pay for the exact cost of boxes and other packing materials provided by the mover during the move
4. Travel Time - You pay a fee for the time it takes the movers to get from our facilities to the origin of the move, and back to our facilities after the move is completed. The charge usually equals 30 to 60 minutes of the cost for labor and trucks
5. Valuation/Insurance - You pay a basic fee to insure your belongings, in case of any damages that may occur during the move.
